Ambosia with special guest John Ford Coley
The Atlantis Resort and Casino in Reno, Nevada, welcomed Ambrosia and
John Ford Coley on a beautiful night in November. The ballroom holds
347 people, there were around 200 present.
Joe Puerta and the new lead singer will carry the band very nicely for
the departed David Pack, who is no longer with Ambrosia
The band opened with the song "Nice Nice" and moved into "You're the
only woman, which was a favorite for the audience. The crowd enjoyed
all of their hits, including; Biggest Part of Me," and "How Much I Feel".
After about 5 songs, Ambrosia surprised the audience with a friend they
met in the Philippines, John Ford Coley! All of them played together for
the first time in Reno, 9 years ago.
You may remember some of Coley's hits like; "Turn on the radio", "Nights
forever without you", "Sad to belong". John informed the audience that
"the radio stopped playing the song, "sad to belong" because fans called
the radio stations saying that song was about cheating." JFC said " the
song tells how to keep a marriage together and not pay child support and
alimony! It also tells you that you should marry your second spouse first!"
JFC stated that people started asking him 30 years ago what the heck he
was saying in that song? Fans asked are you saying "I'm not talkin about
linen, chlamydia or? Then he said started singing the song and very
profoundly stated the words in the song. I'm not talking about MOVIN
IN! (and I'd really love to see you tonight).
If you are looking for a very relaxed atmosphere show with wonderful
music, then check out these two bands.
