Concerts
Ms. Colbie Caillat
The subtle smooth sounds of Colbie Calliat graced Reno in
September 2009. Colbie started with a new song called "I Won't"
from her new album "Breakthrough".
There were hundreds of people that attended but the stage area
was swarmed with a few hundred teenage girls! Of course there
were about a half dozen girls with a birthday in the front row.
Colbie started a Happy Birthday sing a long for everyone.
During her set she performed a PG rated song by The Pussy Cat
Dolls called Don't Cha, the fans absolutely loved this!
The interaction between Colbie, her band and the fans was
incredible! Colbie noticed that all these teenage girls were very
interested in her bass player. She asked him if he went out dancing
last night and if we could see some of his moves. The bass player
breaks out this shiny jacket and sunglasses and puts on some
techno music and bust out the moves. Colbie then invites this
roadie out and they have a dance off.
Colbie told the audience her family was in the audience and asked
everyone to stand up. Colbie then shows this simple dance move
and everyone, and I mean everyone followed what she was doing.
I read an article about her in the newspaper before the show
stating how Colbie had a run in with stage fright when she first
started out. You would never know it, she is not only an amazing
singer, but an overall great entertainer.
After a 95 minute show it ended up being midnight, way past
some of the children and parents bedtime. People didn't seem to
mind as they left the showroom happy singing all of Colbie's hits.
If you are looking for a feel good concert with a great vibe and
soothing sounds Colbie Calliat is definately the show you must
see. The band is fresh, young and talented.
